Brief:
A YEAR IN REVIEW: LOOKING BACK AT 2018 Grab, with its strong presence in 8 countries across Southeast Asia, wanted to look back at 2018 and celebrate the year that was - by leveraging on big data and insights from millions of its own daily users.
Solution:
REDEFINING STORYTELLING THROUGH MOTION GRAPHICS We breathed life into facts and figures by creating a visual-rich world using eye-popping 3D illustrations and motion graphics. Taking inspiration from iconic imagery across 8 countries in Southeast Asia, we distilled the commonality in the region and injected bold, quirky elements with a touch whimsical flair into our animation - a departure from the usual real-life visual design that users are familiar with from Grab. SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT In celebration of the millions of active users across Grab's 8 markets in Southeast Asia, we focussed on the similarities that Grab users possess instead of their differences. How? By mapping out our data points to yield a unifying result, in terms of shared user habits and collective behavioural insights.
