Hari Raya Aidilfitri (Eid Al-Fitr) is a season of connecting with the family. As the enabler of Malaysia's digital lifestyle, Telekom Malaysia (TM) wants to maximise this opportunity to show Malaysians that technology can play an important role in building meaningful connections, the essential reason for TM to make technology easier for everyone.
Solution:
A short film that features a grandfather who uses online games to get close to his young grandson during the festive season. Our hero Atuk is seemingly more interested in playing video games on his smartphone than responding to his annoyed wife. As Hari Raya arrives and his video game-obsessed grandson visits, along with the rest of the family, the film reveals that, unknown to the little boy, Atuk has been his secret online partner all the while. Through this short film, TM highlights that, with the willingness to spend more effort, technology is a truly powerful tool that connects family members across generations.
