Brief:
Watsons Malaysia is the leading health and beauty retailer with over 800 stores and growing in the country serving the health and beauty needs of Malaysians.
Since 2019, Malaysians have been looking forward to what Watsons is going to do for the Chinese New Year festive season. The non-negotiables are clear: a blockbuster-style, star-studded Chinese New Year film paired with an earworm of a soundtrack, but how is Watsons gonna do it differently this time, after years of topping ourselves with greatly entertaining festive films?
Solution:
With the 2019 film kicking off the musical-like style of festive films Watsons is known for, Watsons thought it is time to give a sequel to what happened back then. Back in 2019, we have siblings from one family fighting over their differences and resolving them at the end. In 2026, what if they get challenged by someone from the outside, and the siblings have no choice but to come together for the greater good?
We brought back the original cast members from the 2019 film in all their glory, and deepened the lore of the family with the matriarch's sister, played by Hong Kong superstar Maria Cordero. With this lively addition, outrageous things happen to the original siblings, and drama ensues.
Just like how everyone approaches health and beauty differently, the two families soon find out their differences don’t define them, but unites them instead. Much like how Watsons brings together families to shop their way to a #HappyBeautifulYear.
