Brief:
Adab, or manners, is an important part of Malay culture. But the older generation was getting tired of Gen Z's self-absorbed behaviour. Tenaga Nasional wanted to remind Gen Zs about the importance of this cultural practice. And there's no better time to do it like during Raya, when everyone will be with family of all ages.
Solution:
Gen Zs may not love practising good manners. But they love cats. And they loveeeeee memes. So we got Jero, a beloved recurring character in past films, to write, direct, and star in 2024's Raya film. Cats? Checked. Then, we turned every situation into a lesson on practicing good manners during the season. Moral values? Checked. Finally, we turned every frame into a meme to get the internet to notice us. Memes? Checked. And that's how we taught Gen Z how to be more mindful of their manners during Raya while getting them to love every minute of it.
