Brief:
Toyota Gazoo Racing needed to earn credibility from real motorsport fans in Malaysia. Not with gimmicks. Not with CGI. But with the truth of racing: skill, speed and consequence. Motorsport fans value authenticity. They can immediately recognise what is real and what is staged. To earn credibility, the experience must be genuine, not simulated.
Solution:
A hybrid approach was used: live mechanical sounds paired with an original score built around those sounds. Mechanical rhythm became musical rhythm. The composer and sound designer mapped key stunt sequences (drifts, launches, near-misses) and timed musical motifs to align with camera cuts and driving beats.
