Only 1.2% of maritime employees are women. They report feeling unheard, unappreciated, and unseen as the minority in a seafaring crew, which has led to a drop in productivity, as they lose sight of their purpose. To recognise their importance in the maritime industry, we spoke to the people who saw them in the best light: their loved ones.
Solution:
We invited three women from MISC to watch as we got their loved ones to speak about them. At the same time, an artist was painting a picture that captured their purpose and passion. Then on the International Day for Women in Maritime, we launched the videos for the world to see. It reached other women in maritime
who felt encouraged by their purpose. And just as importantly, it inspired others to appreciate the importance of women to the maritime industry.
